CHAPTER 12

The next afternoon, Unique began to prepare herself for her task for the day. It was something she had never considered doing, at least not for someone else. It was King’s unique way of convincing her that she was doing the right thing. Now that the time and day had come, she was everything but cool about what she had to do.

Her first job was to look as sexy as possible but not too slutty. She took it upon herself to do a little shopping the day before to pick out the perfect outfit. The weather today was sunny and warm, so the cherry-red sundress she chose was perfect. For footwear, she selected a pair of red, open toed wedges with the straps that crisscrossed up her leg and stopped right below her knees. Her hair was done in a flat twist design that was met at the crown of her head by a spiral-curl hair piece that traveled down right pass her shoulders. In her ears, she settled for a simple pair of two carat studs. For eyewear, she wore some white Dolce & Gabbana shades with red lettering on the arms. After applying some lip gloss, a little eye liner, and double checking her French manicured hands and toes, she was sure that her appearance would be the door opener.

Next, Unique walked out into the living room and did a quick check of the two bags that were sitting on her sofa. First she went through the bag containing the money. There was a total of thirty thousand in the bag just in case her looks didn’t get her in the door. Then she checked her handbag. There were only two items that she was concerned she would need, and both sat there side-by-side.

Grabbing the piece of paper King had given her last night, Unique got up off the sofa and headed to the bathroom, staring at the address until she had it memorized. Once in the bathroom, she dropped the paper in the toilet then flushed it down. She made her way back out into the living room, grabbed the bags, and headed out the door.

“Aye Khan,” Vader called out to him. “How the fuck your uncle and them bitches get linked up?”

Khan made his way out of the kitchen and into the living room where Vader was sitting on the sofa puffing on a blunt. Khan had just emptied out the blunt guts into the trashcan in the kitchen and was now about to roll up another blunt before taking a seat on the sofa a couple feet away.

“I don’t even give a fuck.” Khan answered, taking the blunt from Vader and placing it between his lips while starting on the next. “This nigga still thinks it’s the eighties out here. I hate when these old ass niggas come home all corny and think they thorough.”

“Nah,” Vader laughed. “Old head cool.”

“Old head cool, my ass. Like, how you gonna put some bitch you just met off the street before your nephew? I lost respect for that nigga after that.
